Think twice before you take this drug.
Paxlovid, another Pfizer drug, can now be written by pharmacists. Yet this drug has severe interactions with hundreds of other drugs. Pharmacists don't have access to all the patient information, history and and intollerances that would make them competent for safe prescribing. This drug interacts with 43 different classes of drugs and 550 active drugs on the market today.
Most patients who have heart conditions, arrhythmias, high cholesterol, epilepsy, depression and many other common diseases cannot take this drug due to interactions with their medications.
Additionally, Paxlovid amplifies the effects of fentanyl, a very dangerous and powerful opioid, increasing potential of death by reduced breathing. And, many of the anti-coagulants like apixaban, dabigatran, and rivaroxaban are made to act stronger, increasing your risk of bleeding if using these anti-coagulants.
I've already seen this drug prescribed by a number of urgent care and emergency room doctors without adequate knowledge of the potential danger this drug poses. My biggest concern is the emergency use authorization for such a dangerous drug being handed out like candy.
